Honor 5C

28 April 2016. The Honor 5C was launched today during the on-going GMIC (Global Mobile Internet Conference) held in Beijing. This is Honor's first device launch for the year 2016.

Powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 650, it is the first midrange SoC to be fabricated using TSMC's 16FF+ (FinFET Plus) technology, gaining a 65% performance increase over 28nm fabrication. It is paired with the Mali-T830 GPU which marks a 100% performance increase over the predecessor as well as the utilisation of eMMC 5.1 flash memory.

Other than the obvious metal body that comes in 3 colours, namely, Silver, Gold, and Grey, the Honor 5C comes with a 3000mAh battery, 13MP main camera and a 8MP front camera, as well as VoLTE, a 5.2" 1080p screen and the ubiquitous fingerprint sensor, It will be the first device to run EMUI 4.1 (based on Android Marshmallow 6.0) at launch too. Pricing starts from RMB899 for the China Mobile version and RMB999 for the Dual 4G version, which is likely the version we'll be getting in Malaysia. That amounts to a rough estimation of RM 649(inclusive of GST) when it arrives on the Malaysian market.
